In the climax, Luis Llosa managed to rouse some emotions and suspense in his audience thanks to the cathartic annihilation of the villains. If I had seen Sniper at the time of its release, I might have given it an extra star. Today, however, Sniper looks faded, sometimes boring and, most importantly, shows all of the shortcomings of its B-movie nature, topped off with horribly artificial music by Gary Chang. The Rambo movies had Sylvester Stallone, proper pacing and Jerry Goldsmith’s unforgettable musical motifs. This is just a second-rate copy.

Was it already possible to see slow-motion shots of bullets in 1993? That's something you don't see every day. And it really works for those lunatics. The jungle sniper story is somewhat run-of-the-mill, but the overall approach and the effort to come up with something new intrigued me. That's why I'm giving it a higher rating. Maybe someone will notice and agree with me.
