Informed that his sick son, Julio, will soon die of heart disease, crazy Dr. Krellman does what any good mad doctor would do and gives Julio the heart of a gorilla. Oops. The transplanted ape heart somehow or other turns the frail young man into a "horrible half beast, half man" with the body of a muscleman and the face of a (sort-of) monkey. In a hilarious frenzy of over-the-top gore and gratuitous nudity, Julio-the-Half-Ape immediately runs through the streets attacking women and mutilating men. Why? 'Cause it's what monsters DO. Quickly deducing that "the heart of a gorilla is much too potent for any human," Dr. Daddy surgically swaps Julio's simian heart with one taken from -are you ready?- a female wrestler. Double oops.
