Jago: Into the White

Nestled within a church in Naples, sculptor Jago has a studio sanctuary where he meticulously carves a tribute to Michelangelo’s Pieta from a giant slab of marble. Tracking Jago’s journey over the course of almost two years, we follow him across tireless days and nights, seeing his beautiful work come to life. What emerges from the moments in between is a portrait of an artist with a profound desire to reshape the social dynamics of the art world, as well as his own relationship to the talent that put him in the spotlight. A fascinating and intimate glimpse into a contemporary artist’s mastery of a traditional craft, made even more interesting by the unusual role of social media circulating in the background of Jago’s life.
