Lost

This show holds a special place in my heart. For me, it's truly a viewing experience that redefined and reinvented the television genre. After many years, I dove into this 17-year-old series. The first season simply has no flaws! The opening two-part pilot grabs you and doesn’t let go. In terms of characters, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything better; there are plenty of them, but each one gets their own space (and importantly... every viewer will have a different favorite character, that’s the magic of it... for me, it's probably Sawyer and Sayid). The whole mysterious atmosphere is perfect, the soundtrack and musical score are legendary (after all these years, it gave me a big dose of nostalgia). The script deserves applause; the idea of flashbacks showing the characters before the plane crash is worth its weight in gold. Maybe my rating is a bit more subjective, I admit, but I really believe that the first season undoubtedly deserves it. And the final two episodes? That’s how you get excited for the next season. For me, it’s another perfect season; the intro to the first episode focusing on Desmond is absolutely top-notch in every way. The series maintains a solid, gripping pace, and with the discovery of the bunker, new questions arise. We’ll see if the creators provide any rational answers in the future seasons. The acting is flawless, with Sawyer still at the top for me. We’ll see where we go next; the ending of the second season has me incredibly excited for the continuation. For me, the third season might be the absolute peak of this saga so far. Sure, the first season had its charm when it first came out, but personally, the third one impacted me the most. The storyline with the Others was perfect, and the treacherous Benjamin Linus is one of the best-written characters in TV history, a real treat. Otherwise, everyone will find something to enjoy here (with many new characters), and the returning characters finally gave Desmond enough screen time, which quickly made me understand why so many viewers like him. New mysteries and questions emerged, so we’ll see how the creators handle them moving forward. And that grandiose ending completely emotionally wrecked me, with plenty of tears shed :( The cliffhanger at the end was satisfying, and the storyline with the boat is definitely set up well. After four seasons, I can say with a clear conscience that Lost maintains an incredible level of quality. The fourth season, alongside the second, is slightly weaker than the previous ones, but going below five stars would be a crime :D I’ll repeat myself here, but well-written characters like these are what every creator dreams of in their ideal scenarios; it’s a pleasure to watch them come to life. It’s a bit more convoluted, but personally, I don’t mind that Abrams plays with us like a cat with a mouse. Trying to unravel all the situations and questions as a viewer is a plus in my book. And the ending is once again amazing, with Penny and Desmond; a tear of joy was shed :) We’ll see what the final two seasons bring; deep down, I know (remembering how I watched it as a younger kid) that the creators really let loose there :D For me, 9/10 (09.08.2021)

In the fifth season, Abrams threw an absolute atomic MINDFUCK at us viewers! So, I’m a bit worried about how far he’ll push things in the final season! The fifth installment of this saga starts to delve into time jumps, the butterfly effect, and similar themes. Generally, it works well in terms of logic, but there are a few scenes where this aspect falters. I have no complaints about the acting; everyone gave their best, and it shows in the result. I was pleased with the storyline involving the Dharma Initiative in the past, as it provided some answers to various questions in the plot. And John Locke is definitely a central character in "five." I’m really looking forward to the conclusion of this legendary TV series for me. I can’t give it a perfect score right now, but it still deserves a solid 8/10. (17.08.2021)

So, the sixth season is done, and with it, the entire saga! I expected another significant "mindfuck," as that was the concept of the fifth season. And of course, it happened! However, I’d say that over the course of these seasons, I’ve learned to navigate it quite well, so I’m still okay with it. I was a bit disappointed with the massive character culling; that hurt a bit. And the final episode emotionally shattered me into tiny pieces! Many people complain about the ending, but personally, I commend the creators. For me, it’s the best possible conclusion to this unforgettable TV experience with legendary characters and an amazing soundtrack. 8.5/10 (23.08.2021)
