Neverlake is a very strange horror film that may put most viewers off with its slow pace, but if you like kiddie horror, a little bit of the supernatural, unpredictability and a great final twist that will take your breath away from the filmmaker's creative efforts, this might be the right choice. But don't expect gore or scares here, you might as well go next door.

If I were to compare it to something, the first thing that comes to mind is The Devil's Backbone. The fairy-tale style of Guillermo del Toro's films, where despite the apparent naivety, he can evoke true horror from the story, would be a perfect fit for this. I think it would also suit Peter Jackson. It's clear that Riccardo Paoletti still needs some more experience, but otherwise, this is a very successful film that intrigued me with its story. The execution could just be more stylized. That would suit it beautifully.
