A smilingly effortful narrative that so far you can see right through. The impression is incredibly sterile and mechanical. Unsympathetic templates instead of characters (perhaps that is the intention, but it doesn't work). The only thing missing is Johnny Cash at the end. Wait. He’s there. Much ado about nothing so far.

A very decent start. The poorly written western setting contrasts beautifully with Harris's killer. Hopkins is brilliant. The final diagnosis, or talking about God and Shakespeare with dad is chilling. Give me more!

The first episode throws you right into the action without much explanation, but luckily, the story starts to unfold before you get completely lost. I was struck by the contrast between the calm, sterile labs and the brutal, wild west scenes, with brains getting blown out left and right. It all comes together perfectly. And sure, I know "Paint It Black," but I've never heard it played like that before.
