The second episode feels more like a bombastic start of a new phase, designed to grab the audience by the balls and not let go. Lots of new faces that look fresh at first sight and provide a fresh breeze to the sails. Escobar is depicted as a family man, and there are a couple of executions at the beginning and the end to make things juicier.

Is the second season trying a new approach? This episode had a slower pace, leading up to an explosive burst of pure brutality at the end. I’m on board; it works for me. Comparing different professions, I’d rather be a coal baron. Sure, a narco baron makes more money, faster, but their life is far too wild.
