Sally (Shirley Henderson) is the downtrodden young woman with the "tash," and is also the sister of Deirdre (Kelly Macdonald) who is on the rebound after a hard breakup. Her ex-boyfriend John (Cillian Murphy) works as a clerk at a department store. His coworker Oscar (David Wilmot) is an impotent shy guy who finally finds a solution with Noeleen (Deirdre O'Kane), an older woman whose husband has just left her for the much-younger Deirdre. Meanwhile the overzealous cop Jerry (Colm Meany) is busy chasing after harmless criminal Lehiff (Colin Farrell). When a shocking bus accident occurs, the characters are brought together and forced to face the reality of their tangled lives. (jakelijan virallinen teksti)

englanti An Irish folk ensemble of songs and dances (including those involving fists). The first scene with Farrell, culminating in a song from a local band, was promising, but then at that crossroads of fates, where the lights, signage, and even right-of-way don’t work, something was missing. Perhaps a more serious tone. Perhaps more vividly drawn characters drifting through a land where those who are innocent should cast the first stone. Maybe Brendan Gleeson, I don’t know. I’d better not poke at it further to avoid having to receive filtered 7up from Jerry as a reprimand. ()
