Things can go wrong when you stumble upon something you'd rather not have discovered. This happens to a trio of policemen who are checking cars on the road leading to Mexico. It's a bit drawn-out and plot-wise rather dull, which also leads to the film failing to captivate me with its concept. It's not a complete failure, though.

Another one of those longer animated series that won't tell you anything if you haven't seen any previous installments and don't have a connection to the characters. Unfortunately, in this case, there's also quite terrible animation that's not very pleasant to watch. Add to that the clichéd, boring story, and there you have it: an episode for kids is done.

One good scene unfortunately doesn't make a great movie, and while watching Preservation, you'll feel like you're watching something that takes the basic rule of survival genre, and... that's pretty much it. It doesn't bring anything new to the table at all. You're just watching what you could have watched many times before. In this regard, Eden Lake is definitely better and much more intense, which has a similar starting point but manages to have an incredibly strong impact on you.

It's that classic Disney movie where everything is good, and even the villains aren't very bad, but rather ridiculous. I thought a western as a family comedy wouldn't work, but as a family film, it actually does quite well, especially with the central adult couple's relationship adding a pleasant spice to it. But it's not an overly memorable movie.

Twisted Illusions remains something you'll stumble upon truly by chance, perhaps because you'll see Twisted Illusions 2 first, which we'll also cover soon. If you avoid the film, which isn't hard to do, you won't be missing out on much. There's nothing here that could be considered memorable and there’s certainly no talk of the film having cult status.

It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's not good either. Once again, it’s one of those films where they thought faithfully adapting the comic would be great, with all the elements that work on paper, but in the film, they don't - like the clown, who is just dreadful. The CGI, which was still in its infancy, only exacerbated the issue.

I'll be a bit more generous because Jackie Chan probably can't fully disappoint me. With Johnny Knoxville, he created a classic comedy duo that doesn't really leverage their differences much; they're not groundbreaking in that regard. The action scenes are still good though; here I felt again that Jackie doesn't age.

A classic "historical" religious film, where individual characters are more caricatures than real figures, and one gets the feeling that it's more of a concocted story than anything else. Nero is exactly as you would expect, and Peter is noble. There’s simply nothing to give to those who don't love biblical stories.

I was a bit afraid it would be simplistic, too straightforward, and indeed at times it feels a bit too naive, but both main actors give it the right touch. Emilia is truly enchanting. Moreover, the film doesn't end unnecessarily romantically, although it's still beautiful. But that's life, beautiful and cruel.

Level Up tries to be so interesting that it's just weird. It wants to be something unique but still wants to remain an action thriller, but it's not successful in that. The pace gets diluted because you don't know what's real and what's not. Here, it's definitely to its detriment, and you won't have a good feeling after watching it.
